I met Fareeda and Khalid at our initial meeting and felt an instant connection. I learned that their wedding would be Persian and Afghan, which included a dance called the Attan and a prayer before the buffet dinner. I also learned that, surprise, the couple were already married! Their official ceremony had taken place when Fareeha’s sister had gotten married and this was going to be the official celebration. The couple’s main concern was that their 400+ guests had a blast celebrating their marriage and making memories that would last a lifetime.

Fareeda and Khalid were married at the tail end of the summer wedding season at the beautiful Crowne Palace Banquet Hall. Besides the bride, the focal point of the day had to be the STUNNING sweetheart head table.

On the morning of the big day, there were a couple of minor hiccups. Let’s be honest, weddings rarely run smoothly! Unfortunately, the night before the wedding, the bride was notified that her bridesmaids dresses wouldn’t be ready in time which caused some understandable panic. This illustrates exactly why having a wedding coordinator like myself can be so beneficial. I was there to help solve those last minute challenges. Luckily, the bridesmaids had style and quickly decided on long black cocktail dresses which as you can see from the photos ended up looking very elegant.

Being September in Vancouver, the weather is always unpredictable! On Thursday, I was calling venues and trying to come up with some places to take photos as the forecast called for rain. We eventually decided the hotel was the best bet, and possibly the gazebo in the Stanley Park Area.

Well, as per the photos below, you will see just how much it “rained”. It turned out to be clear, blue skies and photographer, Alanna Milaney Photography caught some amazing photos and captured the true beauty of the city.

After Stanley Park, the wedding party all jumped in the limo and headed to the venue. The venue was decorated with glamour in mind. The couple made their grand entrance with their wedding party and family in tow.

Now, the party! The venue was filled with bright colours and lots of love from friends and family for the bride and groom. Even as it approached midnight and my duties were done for the evening, the party continued into the night with lots of dancing and socializing.
